How we chose this list
This is a list of well-known names, not a ranking, put together and checked on 30 September 2026. We have not called it "best", because we could not collect star ratings in a way you could check and repeat. This is what we did.
- Works in Leeds. The business is based in Leeds or West Yorkshire, and says on its own website that it photographs weddings in Leeds.
- Photographs Asian weddings. Each shows Sikh, Hindu, Muslim or other South Asian weddings on its own site.
- Currently trading. Each has a live website, checked on 30 September 2026. One well-known Leeds photographer was left out because we could not open the website to check its details.
- Facts from the source. Every detail below comes from the business's own website. We have added no ratings, no unpublished prices and nothing private.
- Fair order. The list is alphabetical.
Nobody paid to be listed, and we did not contact the photographers. Run a Leeds photography business we missed? Apply to join Nodus and tell us about it.

How to choose between them
Match the photographer to the ceremonies. Families may be Sikh, Hindu, Muslim or mixed-faith, and some couples hold more than one ceremony. Ask each photographer which of your ceremonies they have covered before, and to show you a full gallery from one. Someone who knows an anand karaj will know when the laavan begin. Someone who knows a Hindu wedding will know which moments of the pheras matter.
Check the rules at the ceremony venue. Gurdwaras, mandirs and mosques each have their own rules on where photographers can stand, head coverings and flash. Ask the venue first, then brief your photographer.
Compare like with like. List every event with start and finish times, then ask for quotes against that list. Ask how many photographers, how many hours, what you receive and when.
Name the person. Ask who will photograph each event, and whether a second shooter is included. For women-only events, ask for a female photographer as soon as you have your dates.
Read the copyright clause. Under UK law, the author of a work is the first owner of its copyright (Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, s.11). The contract should say what you can do with your images. If drones are included, check the operator is registered with the Civil Aviation Authority.
Deposits and cancellation. In 2016 the Competition and Markets Authority said a deposit should be "no more than a small percentage of the total price" (CMA). Ask what happens if the photographer cannot attend.
Our full list is in questions to ask your photographer.
Planning photography for a Leeds wedding
A wedding at the Royal Armouries photographs differently from one in a small banqueting suite. Ask your photographer whether they have worked at your venue, and how they deal with low light in a big hall. Share a running order and a list of family group photos a week or two before, and choose two relatives who know everyone to help gather people.
Think about a pre-wedding shoot. Photos by Abhi, for one, shows pre-wedding shoots in its portfolio, and many photographers will quote for one. It is a low-stakes way to see how you work together before the wedding. It also gives you photos for invitations or a welcome sign. If you want video as well, ask whether the same business can film, so one team plans the day and nobody stands in front of anybody else during the ceremony.
For Sikh families, our Sikh wedding planning guide covers the day around the anand karaj, and our Hindu wedding planning guide covers the haldi, sangeet and pheras. The Leeds city guide lists well-known venues and landmarks.
Booking photographers through Nodus
Nodus is one place to find, book and pay wedding vendors, with every booking confirmed in writing. When you book, you pay a deposit to confirm, then the balance before your event, each paid directly to your vendor through Stripe. Nodus is free for couples.
We are inviting Leeds photographers to join now. Until they do, you can start planning in the app and keep your quotes together.
