Nodus for wedding venues
Your date is your product. Nodus is being built so the right families find the dates you still have free, and pay you properly when they book.
Put your free dates in front of families searching by date and guest count, sell a mehndi, a wedding and a walima as one weekend, and take a deposit then the balance straight into your own Stripe account. You pay nothing upfront: commission comes out of each payment you receive through Nodus. Packages, the calendar and multi-hall accounts are coming, and this page marks what works today.

How venue bookings work for South Asian weddings
A venue sells dates, and each date sells once.
- Weekends go first. Saturday is the most popular day to marry across England and Wales (41.9% of marriages in 2023, ONS), and August the busiest month (14.3%). Midweek, Sunday and winter dates are where empty rooms sit.
- One family, several events. A mehndi, a nikkah, anand karaj or pheras, a baraat, a walima or reception. If you have more than one space, a family may want you for two or three of them across a weekend.
- Capacity is the first filter. Families usually know their guest count before anything else, and it can be large. Say plainly what you seat for a meal and what you hold standing.
- Outside suppliers matter. Many families have a caterer, a decorator or a DJ in mind. Whether they can come in decides whether you're on the shortlist at all.
- Deposits are bigger, and so are the stakes. You set your own deposit and balance terms. Clear deposit and cancellation terms protect you and reassure the family. Our guide to deposits and cancellations covers what UK consumer law expects.

Ideas for your storefront
Packages that suit venues
These are examples, not prices. Build yours with the package pricing template.
- Midweek mehndi night: hall hire, set-up time and finish time, for a stated number of guests.
- Wedding day: the main hall for the ceremony and meal, with your catering rules spelled out.
- Full weekend: two or three events across Friday to Sunday, priced below booking each on its own.
- Piece-by-piece extras: a later finish, a second room, early access for decorators, parking.
Before you go live
Your storefront checklist
- Each space, with seated and standing capacity.
- Your rules on outside caterers, decorators and DJs, and your approved list if you have one.
- A "from" price for each type of event, and what the hire includes.
- Access times for set-up and your latest finish.
- Parking, prayer or quiet rooms, bridal rooms and step-free access.
- Your deposit, when the balance is due, and your date-change terms.
Commission vs a directory plan
The honest numbers
Venue bookings are high value, so be clear-eyed. On an £8,000 booking, 3% commission is £240 and 8% is £640, plus Stripe's card fees. Bridebook publishes venue plans from £1,188 to £9,920 a year plus VAT. A venue with many high-value bookings through one platform could pay less on a flat plan. A venue with gaps pays nothing on Nodus until a family pays. Our commission vs subscription comparison and earnings calculator show where the line falls.

Questions
Show your real capacity, your rules on outside caterers and decorators, and a clear 'from' price for each type of event, then keep your calendar current. Families filter by date and guest count first, and they need to know early whether their caterer can come in.
No. There's no subscription and no listing fee. Commission is taken from each payment you receive through Nodus: 3% for founding vendors for their first 24 months, then 8%. For high-value venue bookings, a flat directory plan can cost less over a year, and the earnings calculator shows that openly.
Soon. Multi-hall venue accounts are coming, so one venue can list several halls or suites, each with its own capacity and calendar. Until then, describe each space on your profile.
Yes. Nodus doesn't change your house rules. Put them on your storefront so families know before they enquire whether outside caterers, decorators or DJs can work at your venue.
We can't promise bookings. When the calendar arrives, couples will be able to filter by their date, so an up-to-date calendar puts your free midweek and off-peak dates in front of the families searching for them.
