Nodus for mehndi artists

Bridal mehndi takes hours and happens a day or two before the wedding, often at home. We're building Nodus around how you work.

Put a price on bridal hands, on hands and feet, and on guest mehndi, get enquiries for dates you can take, and take a deposit then the balance straight into your own Stripe account. You pay nothing upfront: commission comes out of each payment you receive through Nodus. Packages and the calendar are coming, and this page says what works today.

How mehndi bookings work

  • It happens before the wedding. Bridal mehndi is usually applied a day or two before the main ceremony, often at the bride's home, and it can take hours. The mehndi night itself may need guest artists.
  • Time slots, not just dates. You might fit a bride in the morning and a guest party in the evening. Your calendar needs to reflect hours, not whole days, and part-day slots are coming to the Nodus calendar.
  • Travel is part of the price. Brides come to you, or you go to them. Say where you cover and what travel costs.
  • Last-minute changes hurt. A cancelled bridal slot the week before is hard to refill. A deposit to confirm, with clear terms, protects your time.
  • Brides from every tradition. Muslim, Sikh and Hindu brides all book mehndi, with different timings and motifs. Show the range you do.
  • Safety is part of trust. The British Skin Foundation warns that PPD, the chemical in so-called black henna, can cause blistering and painful burns. Say clearly what your cones contain.

Ideas for your storefront

Packages that suit mehndi artists

Examples only. Build yours with the package pricing template.

  • Bridal hands: front and back to the wrist or elbow, design style described.
  • Bridal hands and feet: the full bridal set, with the time it takes.
  • Mehndi night guests: one or more artists for a set number of hours or guests.
  • Piece-by-piece extras: a trial, aftercare kit, extra artist, travel beyond your usual area.

Before you go live

Your storefront checklist

  • Close-up photos of full bridal designs on hands and feet, in good light.
  • What your cones contain, and that you don't use PPD.
  • A "from" price for bridal hands, for hands and feet, and per guest or per hour for guest mehndi.
  • How long a bridal design takes, and whether you work from home, travel, or both.
  • The areas you cover and what travel costs.
  • Your deposit and what happens if the date moves.

Brides often check whether an artist can do the style they have saved. Name your styles: Arabic, Indian, Pakistani, minimal, figurative.

What you keep

The honest numbers

On a £400 bridal booking, 3% commission is £12 and 8% is £32, plus Stripe's card fees. Nothing to pay in a quiet month. Check your own numbers in the earnings calculator.

Show close-up photos of full bridal designs, publish a 'from' price for bridal hands and feet and a price for guest mehndi, say where you travel, and keep your dates current. Brides often book their artist once the wedding date is fixed, so being easy to check matters.
