Vendor FAQ: straight answers before you join

If you've paid for listings that never booked, or been burned by a platform before, start here. The answers are grouped by topic.

The short version: there's no subscription and nothing to pay upfront. You pay commission on each payment you receive through Nodus: 3% for founding vendors for their first 24 months, then 8%. Couples pay into your own Stripe account, you're never exclusive, and your clients stay yours. Nobody can promise you enquiries, including us.

Questions

Money and fees

Nothing upfront. There is no subscription, no listing fee and no charge per lead. Commission is taken from each payment you receive through Nodus: 3% for founding vendors for their first 24 months, then 8%. The standard rate is 8%.

From each payment a couple makes to you through Nodus, so from the deposit and from the balance. If no couple pays you through Nodus, you pay nothing.

No. Couples see one price, the one you quote, and never a fee. Commission comes out of your side of the payment, and only you see the rate and your settlement figure.

Yes. Stripe charges its own card processing fee on each payment, and you pay it, as you would if you took cards yourself. Stripe's published rate for standard UK cards is 1.5% + 20p. The earnings calculator shows commission and card fees together.

Not always. For vendors with high-value bookings, a flat yearly subscription can cost less. Commission costs nothing in a month with no bookings. The earnings calculator shows where the line falls for your numbers.

Because we only earn when you do. You shouldn't pay to be listed before a single couple has paid you. The trade-off is that on bookings through Nodus, a share of each payment comes to us.

Getting paid

A deposit to confirm, then the balance before your event, each paid directly to you through Stripe into your own Stripe account. Every payment is completed before the service is delivered.

No. Payments are direct charges to your own Stripe account. Nodus never holds funds, so your money never sits with us waiting to be passed on.

Stripe's usual UK timing applies. Stripe says a first payout in the UK takes 7 calendar days, then payments settle in 3 business days by default. You manage payouts in your own Stripe dashboard.

Yes. You set your own deposit and balance terms, including how much the deposit is and when the balance is due. We give you guidance and a standard template to start from.

Control and flexibility

No, never. Keep your website, Instagram, WhatsApp, word of mouth and any directories. Commission only applies to payments made through Nodus.

Yes. You set your packages, your piece-by-piece services and your quotes. We won't ask you to match prices you charge elsewhere.

Yes. Nodus doesn't ban contact details in messages. The client relationship is yours. Booking and paying through Nodus gives you both a written record and a clean way to pay.

Yes. You choose which enquiries to quote for. When the calendar arrives, keeping it current will cut enquiries for dates you can't do.

Yes, as many as they like, including several in your category. That's how families plan. Clear packages and quick replies help you stand out.

Time and tech

The form takes a few minutes. After a 20-minute call, we set up your profile with you. Have your prices and 10 to 20 of your best photos ready. You can start with one package.

If you can use WhatsApp, you can use Nodus. We set up the profile with you on the call, and you can ask Seehab directly if you get stuck.

At first, yes, and we'd rather be honest about that. The aim is to replace the hunt across DMs, email and spreadsheets: an enquiry pipeline, reminders for unanswered enquiries and a quote builder are coming.

Your profile, a public listing couples can browse, and messaging work today. Enquiries and quotes work in part. Packages, the calendar, the enquiry pipeline, profile score and reviews are coming, along with guest count and budget fields on enquiries.

Trust and safety

We can't promise enquiries, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Nodus is new and couples are joining as vendors do. You pay nothing until a couple pays you, so the cost of trying is your time.

Reviews are coming. Only couples who completed a booking with you through Nodus can leave one, labelled 'Verified booking', and you can reply. Testimonials from your past clients are shown separately and labelled as not verified by Nodus.

Nodus Events Limited, company number 17208744, based in Manchester. Seehab Ahmed is the founder. Nodus acts as booking agent for vendors on this platform.

Your own terms apply. You attach them to your storefront, as long as they don't conflict with the Nodus terms. Couples can download them there, and they are shown alongside every quote, so write them clearly.

Tell the couple, and us, as early as you can. Your own terms set out what happens to payments, and Nodus steps in to help the couple find a replacement.

Leaving Nodus

No. There is no minimum term and no subscription, so there is nothing monthly to cancel. To close your profile, email hello@thenodus.uk.

Payments go directly into your own Stripe account, not to Nodus, so money you've been paid is already yours. Nodus never holds funds for you.

Yes. Email hello@thenodus.uk and we'll export your data for you. The same email closes your profile if you want to leave.
