How we chose this list
This is a list of well-known names, not a ranking, put together and checked on 30 September 2026. We have not called it "best", because we could not collect star ratings in a way you could check and repeat. Here is what we did.
- Works in Manchester. The business is based in Greater Manchester, or says on its own website that it covers Manchester weddings.
- Photographs Asian weddings. Each one shows Muslim, Sikh, Hindu or other South Asian weddings on its own site.
- Currently trading. Each has a live website, checked on 30 September 2026.
- Facts from the source. Every detail below comes from the business's own website. We have added no ratings, no prices they do not publish, and nothing private.
- Fair order. The list is alphabetical.
Nobody paid to be listed, and we did not contact the photographers. Run a Manchester photography business we missed? Apply to join Nodus and tell us about it.

Uzmas

How to choose between them
Look at full galleries. Anyone can post twenty great pictures. Ask for two complete galleries from recent weddings like yours, ideally at a Manchester venue, including the dim hall, the crowded stage and the family group photos. That shows you what an ordinary hour looks like.
Count the events and hours. A Manchester wedding might be a mehndi, a nikkah, a baraat and a walima, or a haldi, sangeet, ceremony and reception. Write down every event, its start and finish times, and whether you want photo, video or both. Then ask each photographer to quote against that list, so the quotes are comparable.
Name the person. Some businesses send different photographers to different events. Ask who will cover each one, by name, and whether a second photographer is included. For women-only events, ask for a female photographer early.
Agree what you receive. Ask how many edited images to expect, how you receive them, when, and whether an album is included. Ask what happens to the raw files.
Understand the copyright. Under UK law, the author of a work is the first owner of its copyright (Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, s.11), so your photographer normally keeps it. Your contract should say what you can do with the images. If the package includes drone shots, ask whether the pilot is registered with the Civil Aviation Authority.
Deposits. In 2016 the Competition and Markets Authority said a deposit should be "no more than a small percentage of the total price" (CMA). Ask what happens if the photographer is ill, and who replaces them.
Our full list of questions is in questions to ask your photographer.
Planning photography across the events
Some families book photography for the main day first and add the mehndi later. Booking the whole run at once can be simpler, and some photographers offer a package price for several events. Share a running order with your photographer a week or two before, with the family group photos you want and the names of two relatives who can gather people. Tell the venue your photographer needs a seat and a meal.
Decide early whether you want video too. Several of the businesses above offer photo and film together, which means one team, one contract and one set of timings. If you book them separately, introduce the photographer and videographer before the day, so they agree who stands where during the nikkah, the pheras or the anand karaj, and nobody blocks the other's shot of the stage.
If your wedding is at one of Manchester's big venues, ask the photographer whether they have worked there before and how they handle the lighting. The Manchester city guide lists some of the well-known venues and landmarks, including places families use for photographs.
Booking photographers through Nodus
Nodus is one place to find, book and pay wedding vendors, with every booking confirmed in writing. When you book, you pay a deposit to confirm, then the balance before your event, each paid directly to your vendor through Stripe. Nodus is free for couples.
We are inviting Manchester photographers to join now. Until they do, you can start planning in the app and keep your quotes together.

We do not rank photographers, because we could not gather ratings in a way anyone could repeat. Six well-known names working in Manchester are Christy Photography, Prime Films, Sean Peters Photography & Video, SHOTSBYZEESHAN, Suhaag Photography and Uzmas. Ask each for two full wedding galleries.
Few publish prices. One Manchester studio, Sean Peters Photography & Video, lists Asian wedding packages from £450 for basic cover up to £3,000 for several days. Ask for a written quote that lists hours, events, photographers and what you receive.
Under UK law the author of a work is usually the first owner of its copyright, so your photographer normally keeps it. Your contract should say what you may do with the images, such as printing and sharing them.
Yes, if you ask early. Uzmas says it has female and male photographers and videographers. Ask any photographer who will actually cover each event, by name.
No. They are listed for local knowledge only and are not affiliated with Nodus. Nodus has no approved vendors yet. Manchester photographers can apply to join as founding vendors.
