Well-known Asian wedding decorators in Manchester: 5 names, and how to choose

Most photographs of the couple are taken on the stage, so decor is worth getting right. Here are five decorators Manchester families mention, how we chose them, and what to agree before anyone starts hanging drapes.

Five well-known Asian wedding decorators working in Manchester, in alphabetical order, are Asian Wedding Services, Ex-Pose Events, The MandapCo, Payal Events and Xquisite Events. Between them they cover mehndi and walima stages, mandaps, backdrops, centrepieces and full venue dressing. We checked each was trading on 30 September 2026. We have not ranked them, and none of them is on Nodus.

How we chose this list

This is a list of well-known names, not a ranking, put together and checked on 30 September 2026. We have not called it "best", because we could not collect star ratings in a way you could check and repeat. Here is what we did.

  • Works in Manchester. The business is based in Greater Manchester, or says on its own website that it decorates weddings in Manchester.
  • Does Asian weddings. Each one offers stages, mandaps or venue dressing for South Asian weddings.
  • Currently trading. Each has a live website, checked on 30 September 2026. A Lancashire stage company was left out because its website no longer shows wedding content.
  • Facts from the source. Every detail below comes from the business's own website or public listing. We have added no ratings, no unpublished prices and nothing private.
  • Fair order. The list is alphabetical (ignoring "The").

Nobody paid to be listed, and we did not contact the decorators. Run a Manchester decor business we missed? Apply to join Nodus and tell us about it.

Asian Wedding Services

A national stage and decor company, based in Birmingham, with a page for Manchester weddings. It supplies wedding stages, mehndi stages, floral stages, mandaps, backdrops, throne chairs and table centrepieces, for traditional and modern events.

Ex-Pose Events

Ex-Pose Events dresses venues from a studio in Denton, serving Manchester, Stockport, Tameside and Oldham. It decorates engagements, mehndis, nikkahs and walimas, with stage decor, backdrops, arches and light-up letters, and offers free consultations at the studio.

The MandapCo

Trading as Hindu Wedding Mandap, this Manchester business hires mandaps for Hindu wedding ceremonies and offers other decor.

Payal Events

A catering and event management company based in Wythenshawe. It specialises in Asian and fusion menus and also handles styling, production and planning, so some families use it for food and decor together.

Xquisite Events

Based in Oldham, Xquisite Events plans and decorates weddings across Greater Manchester. It offers venue decoration, mehndi stages and full event management, and says it has over 18 years' experience.

How to choose between them

Start with the venue. Some Manchester venues include a stage and decor in their packages, and some let only their own decorator work there. Ask before you speak to anyone else. Then ask the venue about access times, what can be fixed to walls and ceilings, and whether candles or open flames are allowed.

Ask for real set-ups. Designs and renders look perfect. Ask each decorator for photos of a real set-up in a room like yours, and if possible at your venue. A stage that suits a hotel ballroom may be lost in a large banqueting hall.

Get an itemised quote. A good quote lists the stage or mandap, backdrop, couple's seating, centrepieces, aisle styling, lighting and flowers separately, and says which items are hired and which you keep. That makes it easy to compare quotes and to drop things if the budget is tight.

Agree the timings. Ask when the team arrives, how long the set-up takes, and when they take everything down. If the venue has a hard finish time, the decorator has to be out by then too.

Plan for more than one event. If the mehndi and the walima are at the same venue on consecutive days, ask whether the stage can be re-dressed rather than rebuilt. It can save money and time.

Deposits and damage. Ask what the deposit is, when the balance is due, and who pays if a hired item is damaged. In 2016 the Competition and Markets Authority said a deposit should be "no more than a small percentage of the total price" (CMA).

Our full list is in questions to ask your decorator.

Decor across a Manchester wedding

A Manchester wedding might need a colourful mehndi stage, a quieter nikkah set-up, a grand walima stage, or a mandap for the pheras followed by a reception stage. Decide early which events need full decor and which can be simpler, because the stage for the main event is where most photographs are taken. Share your colour palette with your decorator, your florist and your mehndi artist, so the photographs hold together.

Our guides to mehndi artists and Asian wedding photographers in Manchester cover the other vendors who work around the stage, and the Manchester city guide lists well-known venues.

Booking decor through Nodus

Nodus is one place to find, book and pay wedding vendors, with every booking confirmed in writing. When you book, you pay a deposit to confirm, then the balance before your event, each paid directly to your vendor through Stripe. Nodus is free for couples.

We are inviting Manchester decorators to join now. Until they do, you can start planning in the app and keep your quotes together.

Questions

We do not rank decorators, because we could not gather ratings in a way anyone could repeat. Five well-known names working in Manchester are Asian Wedding Services, Ex-Pose Events, The MandapCo, Payal Events and Xquisite Events. Ask each for photos of a real set-up at your venue.

Usually the stage or mandap, backdrop, seating for the couple, table centrepieces, aisle or walkway styling and sometimes lighting and flowers. Ask for an itemised quote so you can see what is included and what is hired.

Some Manchester venues include a stage or decor in their packages, and some only allow their own decorator. Ask the venue before you book a decorator, and get the answer in writing.

Book once your venue and date are fixed, and earlier for summer weekends. The decorator needs to know the room, the access times and the venue's rules before they can quote properly.

No. They are listed for local knowledge only and are not affiliated with Nodus. Nodus has no approved vendors yet. Manchester decorators can apply to join as founding vendors.
