Planning tools built for more than one ceremony

Most wedding apps plan one day. Yours has four, maybe five, and a guest list that changes shape for each one.

Nodus organises your wedding by ceremony, because a South Asian wedding is a series of events, each with its own date, venue, guests and vendors. Ceremonies work in the app today in an early form. Most of the planning tools below are coming, and we label each one.

The problem

Why generic planners don't fit

A standard wedding planner gives you one date, one venue and one guest list. A Punjabi Sikh family might have a jaggo, an anand karaj at the gurdwara and an evening reception. A Pakistani Muslim family might have a dholki at home, a mehndi, the nikkah and baraat, then a walima. Each event has different guests and a different caterer, and each draws on the budget in its own way. Squeezing that into one "big day" template leaves families running the real plan in spreadsheets.

  1. Mehndi

Henna, songs and family, usually in the days before.

  2. Nikkah or Anand Karaj

The ceremony, at a mosque, gurdwara, temple or venue.

  3. Baraat

The groom's arrival, with dhol, dancing and family.

  4. Walima

The celebration hosted by the groom's family after the nikkah.

  5. Reception

    The evening celebration for everyone.

One plan

How the pieces fit together

The tools share the same ceremonies. When you accept a caterer's quote for the walima, it counts against the walima budget. When your RSVPs for the mehndi come in, that number is ready for the mehndi caterer. When a task says "book the dhol player for the baraat", the enquiry you send sits under the baraat too. Your parents can open the plan and see where things stand without asking you for the fifth time that week.

That is the aim. Today, the ceremonies and the vendor side of it (messaging, and quotes in an early form) work. The rest arrives piece by piece, and each piece will show up inside the plan you have already started.

Questions

Nodus is one. It organises planning by ceremony, so the mehndi, nikkah or anand karaj, baraat, walima and reception each have their own date, venue, budget and vendors. Ceremonies work in an early form today and most planning tools are coming.

It is coming. It will show your total budget, confirmed spend, outstanding quotes and what is left. Until then, our free wedding budget planner gives you a one-off estimate split across ceremonies and categories.

That is the plan. The guest list and RSVP manager, marked as coming, tracks each guest's reply per ceremony, so the mehndi and the walima can have different numbers.

Shared planning access is coming. You will be able to invite family as viewers of the planning hub, ceremonies, budget and guest list.

Yes. Nodus is free for couples, forever, and that includes every planning tool as it arrives.
