Quotes and bookings, confirmed in writing
The quote, the yes and the booking in one place, so the family can see what was agreed without scrolling back through a chat.
The point is to get what the vendor offered, and what you agreed to, written down in one place before anyone pays. Quotes and booking records work in an early form today. The written confirmation and verified reviews are coming, and we mark them that way.
The problem
Why quotes go wrong
The decorator quotes on the phone. The caterer sends a PDF to one cousin's email. The photographer's price is in a voice note. By the time the family sits down to add it up, nobody is sure whether the mehndi coverage was included, or whether the per-head price had VAT on it. The trouble usually starts in the gap between what was said and what was written down.
How it works
From enquiry to booked
Send an enquiry
Message vendors from one place. Every conversation stays with the booking it belongs to.
Example booking Get a clear quote
Each vendor sets out their price: a deposit to confirm, then the balance before your event.
Example booking Booked, in writing
Accept the quote and the booking is confirmed in writing, for you and the vendor.
Example booking Deposit paid to your vendor
Pay securely through Stripe. Your payment goes directly to your vendor.
Example booking The day itself
Every booking, time and balance in one place, for the whole family.
Example booking
The vendor sends a quote in your thread
The quote arrives next to the messages that led to it, so you can see what you asked for and what they offered side by side.
You accept it in the app
One tap records the booking against your wedding and the ceremony it is for. You can accept quotes from as many vendors as your wedding needs.
The booking is confirmed in writing (coming)
You and the vendor each get a written confirmation with the vendor's name, the event, the date and the total. Every booking confirmed in writing.
A deposit to confirm, then the balance
You pay a deposit to confirm, then the balance before your event, each paid directly to your vendor through Stripe.
Itemised quotes, coming
What a good quote looks like
Soon vendors will build quotes line by line: the mehndi stage, the nikkah backdrop, the walima centrepieces, each with its own price and a total that adds itself up. You see the breakdown in the app and in the quote email. When a relative asks "what exactly are we paying the decorator for?", you can show them.
A quick check
Before you accept a quote
- Is the date right, and is it the right ceremony? A mehndi quote and a walima quote can look alike.
- What is included, and what is extra? Staff, travel, setup time and VAT are the usual gaps.
- How many hours, how many guests, how many people from the vendor's team?
- What are the vendor's cancellation terms, and when is each payment due? Their terms are shown alongside every quote, and you can download them from their storefront.
- Does anyone else in the family need to see it first? Screenshot the thread and share it.

If you run a wedding business
For vendors: a record you can point to
A quote you send on Nodus lives next to the conversation that produced it. When the couple accepts, the booking shows on your side with the event and date. The couple pays the deposit and balance straight into your own Stripe account, and once written confirmations switch on, you get the written record too, without writing a separate invoice.
You attach your own terms and cancellation policy to your storefront, as long as they don't conflict with the Nodus terms. Couples can download them there, and they are shown alongside every quote you send. If you ever have to cancel, Nodus steps in to help the couple find a replacement.
Questions
Send an enquiry from the vendor's profile. The vendor replies in the same thread and sends a quote there. Quotes work in an early form in the app today.
The app records a booking against your wedding. You then pay a deposit to confirm, then the balance before your event, each paid directly to your vendor through Stripe. The vendor's own terms, shown alongside every quote, set the deposit and when the balance is due.
Yes, that is the aim of every booking on Nodus. A written booking confirmation, sent to you and the vendor with the vendor's name, the event, the date and the total, is being built now and is marked as coming.
Yes. There is no exclusivity. Plenty of families book a hair stylist and a separate makeup artist, or a photographer and a videographer from different studios.
Reviews are coming. They will only open after a completed booking and will carry a "Verified booking" label with the event type and month.
